Entrance examination were the most popular mode of admit students to most of the law courses in India. Law Entrance in India was done on the College level, different colleges and university conduct different entrance examination to admit students to their courses.

In 2008, seven premier law institutes in India came together to streamline the admission process of admit students to the 5-year LLB course in India and reduce the burden of students of taking different entrance examinations, has sign a memorandum of conducting a Common Law Admission Test from the year 2008. In its first year, CLAT was conducted by National Law School of India University, Bangalore. In 2009, four other university joined CLAT, which was conducted by NALSAR University Bangalore. In 2010, this test was conducted by national Law Institute University, Bhopal on May 09, 2010. Thus the CLAT 2011 would be the fourth time that this common law entrance test would be held in India along with other common admission tests like CAT, AIEEE etc.

The CLAT is of 2 hours period, held between 3pm and 5 pm, consisting of objective type question on Basic mathematics, English language, General awareness, and legal and logical reasoning.

The course is designed for students of class 12 and who are still within the age limit required for the admission. Career Launcher has been producing excellent results in the past.
