IGNOU to honour conventional healers for their comprehension

In an attempt to preserve and document the knowledge of traditional ********, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has decided to honor the healers with prices "Vaidya gram. In a recent study practitionerswith traditional ******** for over 25 years experience interviewed healers in rural areas of Vellore and names recommended to the university.

The project aims to assist the Department of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH) in the document of the health systems of traditional ministry Union practiced for years in the villages. "These people are not registered or qualified professionals. They are mainly farmers, who are often approached by villagers to save the life problems, such as snakebites," said Chennai-based Centre for Traditional ******** Research and Secretary Dr. T Thirunarayanan, the coordinator of the cooperation project Tamil Nadu.

The study also covered the state of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Meghalaya, Rajasthan and Orissa. Velletri, the university has received 50 applications.

The certification does not give general practitioners a license. It is believed to document the traditional practices in the village and encourage people who have knowledge.
